Shelvey Madama

In loving memory

Shelvey was proud to have been born and raised in Wheeling West Virginia. Daughter of William and Vera Butler (both deceased). She is survived by her sisters Sally Tate Vlosich, Joyce Willie and Karen Butler Willisonn. She is also survived by her brother William Butler. She spent most of her life living in the Cleveland, Ohio area where she raised two sons, Larry Madama and Greg Madama and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Madama. She was also blessed with Grandchildren, Adam Madama, Ben Madama, Kristi Madama and Cody Madama. She Loved her family, so much so that she devoted a large part of her life as a member of the Ohio Geneology Society, and the Western Reserve Historical Society. She spent many years researching her family tree, uncovering many unique facts about her ancestors and even being recognized as one of Ohio's First Families. Shelvey had many careers, hobbies and organizations over the years. She loved life because of all the friends she made over the years. She was especially proud of her involvement in the theater and her career with Cleveland's Playhouse Square. Everyone who knew her, knew how much she loved the theater. She later moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to be with Greg and Debbie and to live by the beach. Mom, we all Love You and will miss you. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

My prayer for Shelvey … RIP. 2/1/2026 my eldest sister crossed over to Eternal Life.

O Jesus, eternal Priest, take my eldest sister within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart. Remember her unstained hands that served You and her unsullied lips that shared Your Word for the salvation of others. Take her pure and unearthly heart, sealed with the sublime mark of Your love and let that holy love surround and shield all those that she has touched from the world’s contagion. Bless her labors that produced abundant fruit and may the souls to whom she ministered have joy and consolation here and in Heaven.
May God present her with a beautiful and everlasting crown for a job well done. Amen
